KARONGI: Governor Ntibitura commends partners for their contribution to the District’s Development

During the official opening of the JADF (Joint Development Forum) Exhibition in Karongi District, Governor of the Western Province, Mr. Jean Bosco Ntibitura commended development partners for their significant contribution to the district's development. The exhibition provides a platform for partners to showcase their achievements and ongoing initiatives across various sectors, including agriculture, livestock, handicrafts, and other community services.

In his remarks, Governor Ntibitura stated that the exhibition serves as an important opportunity for development partners to learn from one another, improve their interventions, and enhance service delivery. He emphasized that the ultimate goal of all development efforts is to provide quality services that directly benefit citizens.

Expressing his appreciation, the Governor said: "The Provincial Administration highly values the crucial role played by the Joint Action Development Forum in promoting economic development, good governance, and the social well-being of our citizens."

The Governor also encouraged development partners to increase the impact of their work by expanding agricultural, livestock, and other development initiatives. He urged each partner to strengthen their efforts in order to deliver even better services to the communities they serve. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of public awareness by ensuring that citizens are well informed about the services and development activities available in their communities, enabling them to access these services with confidence and satisfaction.

The Chairperson of the Karongi District Joint Action Development Forum (JADF), Mr. Raymond Uwiragiye, noted that the exhibition is one of the forum's key annual activities. He highlighted that JADF member organizations play a vital role in Karongi District's development through their day-to-day activities, contributing to the implementation of government programs and the achievement of national development objectives outlined in the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2), as well as other initiatives aimed at improving citizens' livelihoods.

It was also reported that, during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, development partners operating in Karongi District contributed to the implementation of various district performance targets through a combined budget of approximately RWF 6.790 billion. Their interventions included strengthening healthcare services, improving the quality of education, promoting agriculture, creating employment opportunities, protecting the environment, and supporting poverty reduction. These efforts have made a significant contribution to the implementation of the district's performance contracts (Imihigo) and the country's broader development agenda under NST2.
